Today Wendy and Alex are discussing the Impact of Coronavirus on senior living care facilities. Coronavirus has shaken the fibers of skilled nursing facilities and over half of these facilities in the United States have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. Deaths of seniors in a facility accounts for 20% of all total deaths in the United states from the virus. This is due to two factors, these are densely populated living situations where 2-4 people live in the same room, and the Coronavirus is predisposed to have severe effects on those with preexisting conditions and the elderly. 

If you have a loved one in a senior living facility it might be time to assess your loved ones' situation and see if it is possible to bring them home, If you do not have room in your home an AirBNB or a hotel could be a good fit. Start by making a list of the services your loved one receives from their facility and also reassess your financial resources . Do they have medications they need administered, physical therapy, wound dressing, bathing assistance, and other services like meal preparations? Many of these services can be done at home through various home care agencies.
